Students IslamicOrganisation of India, Bangalore City held a press conference in BangalorePress Club on 15th Feb in the pretext of its upcoming campaign, “Students! Whereare you heading towards?” based on the existing popular culture.

Addressingthe media-persons, Br. Syed Kazim, secretaryfor Public Relations SIO-Karnataka said, “The campaign aims at creatingawareness about the negative impact of existing popular culture on the studentsand youths. The campaign would focus on the philosophy and effects ofpopular culture. It can be better described as an octopus with severaltentacles like music, films, pornography, reality shows, drinks, relationship, behavior,fashion, literature, advertisements, brand consciousness, media, etc. It hassurrounded us from all sides and the probability of survival is negligible unlesswe stand up today.”

Br. Syed Kashif, City President and Br. Umar Farooq, PR Secretary ofBangalore City and Br. Mansoor, were also present at the conference.

Hesaid that the campaign aimed at creating awareness about the negative impact ofpopular culture on students and youth. The campaign would focus on thephilosophy and effects of popular culture, which can be better described as anoctopus with several tentacles like music, films, pornography, reality shows,drinks, relationship, behavior, fashion, literature, advertisements, brandconsciousness and media. It has surrounded the society from all sides and wewill not be in a position to survive unless we stand up today.

SIO Bantwal Taluq conducted a“Student Meet” at Hotel Krishnima Conference Hall, on the theme “Students!Where are you heading towards?” Chief Guest Br. Syed Kazim, PR Secretary, SIOKarnataka Zone, conducted a workshop on the topic “Effective Planning and Implementation”.He gave a brief idea about the levels of planning and the qualities required inorder make good plans and its effective implementation. Activities were alsoconducted, where the participants got to learn many aspects of planning andimplementation through their active involvement. Br. Musthaq Patla (RegionalPresident – Mangalore Region) also rendered a presentation on the topic “MarchTowards Endless reward”. The presentation enlightened the delegates on thevarious ideologies of different religions with respect to the concept ofHereafter. More than 50 delegates took part in the program.
